Juan and Javid from Aywana were guests at the BusinessFriends meeting at the Regus in Konstanz at the beginning of January. Aywana develops padel tennis facilities from initial planning to ongoing operation. Structured, meticulously planned, and all from a single source.
Also present:
Juan Martin Casto Galvan, Aywana
Javi Miras, Aywana
Count Christian Bernadotte, Michael Ploschke
Miriam Mouzannar, DVAG
Martin Langanke, BusinessFriends
What came together here was a shared understanding of entrepreneurship: clear decisions and open dialogue. This was reflected in the way we work. We bring people together, discuss entrepreneurial practices, and consistently focus on good and implementable solutions.
But what is padel?
Padel is a racket sport that originated in Mexico in 1969 and combines elements of tennis and squash. It is played on a smaller court with glass walls that are incorporated into the game. The back-and-forth action in doubles and the compact playing area result in fast, dynamic rallies.
Aywana redefines padel: Business. Sport. Connections.
For Aywana, padel is more than just a sport. It creates spaces where people play, laugh, linger, and connect. Business here doesn't develop through staging, but through encounters.
Juan is from Argentina, Javid from Spain, so both grew up playing padel. Five years ago they brought their concept to Germany, and now they are expanding internationally. For them, growth doesn't mean speed at any cost, but above all, good planning.
Time as a strategic factor
Our discussions focused heavily on the conscious use of time: preparing, thinking things through thoroughly, and only then implementing. Not based on some romantic notion, but as a strategic component for achieving high quality.
Relationships before short-term deals. Substance before glamour.
Another key theme of our discussions was trust. Not as a “core value,” but as a conscious decision to take risks, without which no sustainability can be achieved. This perspective is also shared by Aywana and BusinessFriends.
In the end, one simple realization remained:
Business benefits from a positive attitude towards all stakeholders and this applies across all industries, countries, and cultures. This isn't reflected in grand pronouncements, but in fair decisions, in how people treat each other, and in the way collaboration is structured.
